I HAVE the honour to enclose six copies of the Report* of a small expert Committee recently appointed by this Government to consider the question of venereal disease. Volume I contains the Report with Appendices, and Volume II the text of oral evidence taken by the Committee.

2. The Committee decided unanimously "that all evidence given before this

Committee be considered strictly confidential and is not to be published." Volume II

is accordingly being treated as a Confidential document.

3. The Committee's Report will be of interest to the Admiralty and the War Office, and Your Grace may wish to send copies of it to those Departments.

The Report is receiving consideration, but is not being published in any
