Gives instructions for providing a passage to Calcutta for Dr. S. R. Christophers by the steamer of April 12th.

Transmits, with observations, copy of a circular issued to all public officers in the Colony and translations of reports by Professors Celli and Koch on the subject of measures for the prevention of malarial fever.

Requests them to pay £150 to Dr. Sam- bon, and to charge the sum to the Malaria Investigation Fund.

States that the Crown Agents have been instructed to pay him £150 on account of his expenses and as an honorarium for his services.

Transmits copy of No. 5, and enquires whether he thinks that a copy of Professor Celli's report might use- fully be printed for transmission to Governors of tropical Colonies.

Approves of Sir W. MacGregor's policy. and recommends the circulation of the March number of "The Practi- tioner," summarizing experiments of Grassi, Fermi, and Topsini, to all tropical Colonies.\

Appreciates action reported in No. 5, and asks for any spare copies of the printed translation of Professor Celli's report for distribution to the officers of other Colonial Governments.

Submits, for remarks, suggestions made by a Committee for diminishing the risk to health and life from malaria.
