I HAVE the honour to transmit herewith a list of the whaling licences which have been issued for the South Shetlands and Graham's Land, and the South Orkneys, for the 1914-15 season.
2. The companies holding licences to take whales in the South Shetlands and Graham's Land are identical with last year's licence-holders in that dependency; with regard, however, to those companies proposing to operate in the South Orkneys, the Normanna Whaling Company has taken the place of the Pacific Whaling Com- pany, the Coronation Company has relinquished its lease, and the Rethval and Thule Companies will operate together under one licence, in accordance with the conditions laid down in your despatch No. 42 of the 2nd May.*
