No. 63, of the 29th of April last], I have the honour to transmit to [Your Excellency] [you], to be laid before your Ministers, the accompanying copy of a book of lantern lectures on Canada and Newfoundland, which has been pre- pared for the Visual Instruction Committee of the Colonial Office, together with a separate copy of the list of slides.‡

2. The slides with which the lectures are illustrated are derived from pictures painted and photographs taken by the Committee's artist, Mr. A. Hugh Fisher, whose visit to the [Dominion] [Newfoundland] is referred to in [my predecessor's Mis- cellaneous despatch of the 9th of July, 1908,¶] [Sir W. MacGregor's despatch, No. 118, of the 14th of October, 1908,**] supplemented by photographs placed in their disposal by [the High Commissioner and the representatives of the Provincial Governments in this country, and by the Canadian Pacific Railway Company and the Grand Trunk Railway Company of Canada] [the Government of Newfoundland]. 3. I have to request that you will convey to your Ministers the thanks of the Committee for the many facilities which were afforded Mr. Fisher during his visit.
