I AM directed by Mr. Secretary Harcourt to request you to obtain from Messrs. Newton and Company, 37, King Street, Covent Garden, W.C., and to send out to the Government of Mauritius, six copies, bound in cloth, of the book of lectures on the "Sea Road to the East," prepared by Mr. A. J. Sargent for the Visual Instruction Committee of this Office, together with a set of the slides illustrating those lectures, including coloured slides, but omitting all those in the second and third lectures which are duplicates of slides in the first lecture of the Mauritius edition of the Committee's lectures on the United Kingdom.
2. Messrs. Newton and Company will be able to identify these duplicates and should be instructed to mark them on the accompanying list, for the convenience of the Mauritius Government, and to give the numbers of the corresponding slides in the United Kingdom set.
3. The cost should be charged to the Mauritius account. The books are sold at 1s. each, and the price of a complete set of slides is £29 10s., but an allowance should be made for the duplicate slides omitted.
