are pre. pared to agree to the proposed amalgamation of the Surinam ard British Colonial Emigration Agencies at Calcutta, provided that the British Colonies concerned are equally of opinion that amalgamation is desirable.
Forwards a copy of the recommenda- tions received from the visiting representatives of the Indian Govern- ment together with a copy of a full minute of the conferences with them on the 16th and 19th May; states the steps to be taken to carry out the recommendations, and encloses copies of minutes relating to the subject.

Forwards copies of two reports by the Honorary Secretary of the Committee of Surgeons-Superintendent of the coolie emigrant vessels, setting forth the adverse opinions expressed by the Surgeons in regard to the proposed systematic treatment for ankylostome infection of emigrants during the voyage.
Approves of an expenditure of not more than £1,000 for the provision of a house for the Agent at Fyzabad, but points out that no steps can be taken in the matter until it has been definitely decided whether the depôt is to be at Fyzabad or not.

Transmits copies of Nos. 130 and 127 and requests observations as to the proposal that coolies should be ex- amined in depôt previous to embarka- tion.
Transmite copies of Nos. 127 and 133; requests that he will consider the correspondence with Mr. Gibbes and submit a joint report on the matter.
Transmits a copy of No. 134 with en- closures; considers it advisable to await the observations of the Emigra- tion Agents before coming to any decision with regard to the proposal for the treatment of sufferers from ankylostome infection involving an examination in depot and subsequent treatment during the voyage; but in the meantime draws attention to the correspondence indicated.
Transmits copies of Nos. 127 and 133 and suggests that copies should be forwarded for the consideration of the Indian Government; appreciates services of Mr. McNeill and Mr. Chimman Lal.
Suggests, in reply to No. 123, that some of the clerks at Calcutta with whose services it is proposed to dispense might be employed in Fiji as Indian interpreters; agrees, if this suggestion cannot be adopted, that the retiring allowances of the clerks should be computed on the basis suggested in No. 121, and agrees with the views expressed by Messrs. Gibbes and Marsden in No. 119 with regard to the financial arrangements to
be adopted in consequence of the amal- gamation of the Agencies.
Expresses satisfaction, in reply to No. 137, that the recommendations of the dele- gates have met with so general an approval by the Colonial Government, and states that copy of the correspond- ence is being sent to the Indian Gov- ernment; encloses a copy of a letter from the Indian Government showing that they have no objection to the Ordinance No. 2 of 1913, and requests a copy of the Ordinance No. 6 of 1913 for transmission to the Indian Government.
