SEYCHELLES.-By Ordinance No. 29 of 1903 it is lawful for the Administrator to prohibit absolutely the taking or killing of any wild bird, or to fix a period in each year during which no such wild bird may be killed. By Proclamation of 22nd June, 1907, the Merle (Hypsipetes crassirostris) may not be killed or sold nor may its eggs be taken from 1st January to 30th June. BAHAMAS.-The Wild Birds Protection Act, 1905, makes punishable the killing. sale, or export, or taking eggs of all song and insectivorous birds, including thrushes, mocking-birds, warblers, honey-creepers or banana-birds, swallows, finches, sparrows, flycatchers, humming-birds, swifts, cuckoos, goatsuckers, woodpeckers, mosquito hawks, fighters or thrashers. (In May, 1909, however, the Governor stated that the humming. bird was the only one so protected.) Close times are established for man-of-war birds, herons, rails or marsh hens, spoonbills, parrots, flamingo, partridges or quails, whistling ducks and Bahama ducks; and power is given to establish reserves.
BARBADOS."-By Ordinance No. 28 of 1907 the killing of the following birds is

is prohibited :-Red bird, blue bird, ground dove, chick of the village, quail, partridge, tropic bird, boatswain bird or long tail, humming bird, kingfisher, woodpecker, rice bird, crane, heron, goldfinch, mocking bird.
BRITISH GUIANA.-By Ordinance No. 6 of 1877 (amended by No. 18 of 1909) the following birds may not be killed nor may any part of them be possessed, offered for sale, or exported (except with the Governor's licence) :-
