17. For the purpose of computing the pension of an officer who has been trans- ferred to or from the service of the Colony from or to other public service, and ulti- mately retires from the service of the Colony after an aggregate service of not less than ten years, or from other public service in circumstances in which he is permitted by the law and regulations of the service in which he is last employed to retire on pension, the following rules shall apply :

(1) The officer's pensionable emoluments at the date of his final retirement shall be ascertained and the following amounts shall be determined :—

(a) The amount produced by taking one-sixtieth part of the said pensionable emoluments for each complete year of his pensionable service in the Colony and in other public service.

(b) The total amount of the pension- able emoluments drawn by the officer in respect of the whole of his pension-

able service in the Colony and in other public service.

(2) The pension which, apart from any addition or additions as hereinafter provided and subject always to the limit prescribed in Section 10 of the Ordinance, may be charged on the revenues of the Colony shall bear the same proportion to the amount determined under (1) (a) as the total amount of the pensionable emoluments drawn by the officer from the revenues of the Colony bears to the amount determined under 1 (b).

16. Subject to the succeeding Regula tions, the provisions of Regulations 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 shall apply to the case of an officer who has been transferred to or from the service of the Colony from or to other public service as if his entire service had been in the Colony, and his pensionable emoluments at the date of transfer, as well as at the date of retirement, shall be com- puted in accordance with the principles laid down in Regulation 7.

17. (2) The pension which, apart from any addition or additions as hereinafter provided and subject always to the limit prescribed in Section 10 of the Ordinance, may be charged on the revenues of the Colony, shall bear the same proportion to the amount determined under (1) (a) as the total amount of the pensionable emoluments drawn by the officer from the revenues of the Colony bears to the amount determined under (1) (b).

(3) (a) Where in the whole of the officer's other public service the pension scale is a sixtieth scale, instead of the fiftieth scule laid down in Regulation 1, an addition to the pension chargeable on the revenues of the Colony under (2) may be granted at the rate of one-three-hundredth part (being the difference between one fiftieth part and one-sixtieth part) of the pensionable emoluments of the office held by such officer at the date of retirement or transfer, as the case may be, from the service of the
