A
10. (1) Except in a case where an officer has been permanently injured without his grantable. own default in the actual discharge of his duty, a pension granted under this Ordinance shall not exceed :-

Pensions not to be
(a) where an officer is not eligible for a pension in respect of other public service, two-thirds of the highest pensionable emoluments drawn by him at any time in the course of his service in the Colony; () where he is also eligible for pension in respect of other public service, such an amount as, when added to any other pension or pensions granted to him in respect of other public service prior to service in the Colony, equals two-thirds of the highest pensionable emolu- ments drawn by such officer at any time in the course of his service in the Colony or other public service. (2) In no case shall a pension granted under this Ordinance exceed (a) where the officer is not eligible for a pension in respect of other public service the annual sum of £1,000, or (b) where he is also eligible for pension in respect of other public service such an amount as, when added to any other pension or pensions granted to him in respect of other public service prior to service in the Colony,* makes up a total annual sum of £1,000.
11. If any person to whom a pension has been granted under this Ordinance, or under any previous law or regulations, is, after the cominencement of this Ordinance, ap pointed to another office in the service of the Colony or in any other public service, then during his tenure of such office so much only (if any) of his pension shall be paid to him as, together with any pension received by him in respect of other public service and with the salary-and-fees-of such ethee, pensionable emoluments of Fuch office (or, if the office is not pensionable, with such an.ount as the Secretary of State shall determine for this purpose to be the emoluments of such office)] makes up an amount not greater than the highest pen- sionable emoluments drawn by such officer at any time in the course of his service in the Colony or other public service.
12. No pension granted under this Ordin- ance shall be assignable or transferable, or assignable. liable to be attached, sequestered, or levied upon, for or in respect of any debt or claim whatsoever.

13. If any person to whom a pension has been granted under this Ordinance becomes a bankrupt, then such pension shall forth.
