September 18 Calls attention to the serious losses in live stock owing to the tsetse fly in Southern and Northern Nigeria, and enquires whether any information can be supplied as to the best means of dealing with the pest.

Destruction of Game. Forwards copy of a despatch to the Gov- ernor of German South-West Africa, suggesting the issue of a Proclamation prohibiting the destruction of game except under licence and during certain seasons.

Majesty's Minister at Lisbon enclosing copy of a Decree and Regulations on the subject.

Preservation of Game. Submits viewa

Destruction of Live Stock by the Tsetse Fly. States in reply to No. 49 that the Chief Veterinary Officer of the Board of Agriculture wishes to discuss the matter, and suggests that a representa- tive of the Association should call upon him.

Veterinary Survey of Northern Nigeria. Proposes to make a veterinary survey of Northern Nigeria with a view to the prevention of disease in live stock, and enquires whether the services of an officer of the Board could be utilized and what rate of salary the Treasury might be asked to sanction.

"The Wild Animals Proclamation, 1906," Submits draft Proclamation together with a report by the Acting Chief Justice on the proposed legislation.

Preservation of Game. Submits Game Ranger's Report for 1905-6 together with comments and suggestions by the Deputy Commis- sioner and a return of game killed.

Rangers' Department. Agrees to the provision proposed in No.

International Agreement for the Preser- vation of Wild Animals. November 3 Reports that the French Government have announced their willingness to ratify the agreement of May 19, 1900, and proposes so to inform the signa tory Powers and to ask whether they also would be ready to ratify.
