I HAVE the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch, No. 71, of the 27th of April last, and to inform you that I approve of your proposal to invite the Governments of St. Lucia and St. Vincent to join with Grenada in an annual contribution of £100 to the Tropical Diseases Research Fund, and shall be glad to learn that those Governments are willing to co-operate in the matter.

2. To receive the reportst of the London and Liverpool Schools of Tropical Medicine for the six months ending the 30th April, together with the accounts of the Schools with regard to the expenditure of the grant for 1908. (Prints here- with.)
3. To receive despatches§ from Jamaica, the Leeward Islands, Papua, Sierra Leone, and Trinidad, commenting on the work done under the direction of the Advisory Committee. (Prints herewith.)

Government House, Singapore, 13th May, 1909. I HAVE the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your Lordship's circular despatch of the 11th March, 1909, and to state that I have consulted the unofficial members of the Legislative Council, and they have agreed to the insertion in the Estimates for 1910 of provision for the continuance of the grant of £100 to the common fund of the London School of Tropical Medicine. This grant will, there fore, be included annually in the Colonial Estimates until the year 1914 inclusive.
