Hardinge reporting a discussion with M. de Cuvelier on the suggestions put for ward, and proposes to give assurances asked for that the proposed measure- ment should not retard the work of the Boundary Commission and that the position of the 30th meridian as fixed by the Boundary Commission shall not be affected.

Notifies him of the decision to confine Southern the proposed school to Nigeria under the control of the Director of Surveys at Lagos; states that the services of surveyors trained at the school will be at the disposal of the other West African Govern- ments on suitable conditions, and that Mr. Esuman Gwira, if he can be spared from the Gold Coast Survey Department, will be appointed native instructor to the school.
