Transmits copy of a letter to the Advisory Committee enclosing a letter from Professor Ross calling attention to the undue prominence given to the work of the London School in the Report of the Advisory Board for 1906 and requesting a ruling as to the amount of detail to be furnished in reporting work done.

States that, if desired, No. 8 will be laid before the Advisory Board at their next meeting, but points out reasons for which Professor Ross's claim cannot be admitted and expresses regret that the letter was written.

Acknowledges receipt of No. 9 and states that he will take an early opportunity of bringing the matter before the Committee: requests that No. 8 may be withheld meanwhile.

Forwards copy of No. 1, Vol. I, of the Annals of Tropical Medicine and Parasitology of the Liverpool School.

States that provision has been made in the draft Estimates for the purchase of equipment for research into tropical diseases, and that the request for six- monthly reports will be borne in mind.

Memorandum to the Advisory Com- mittee circulating despatches from the Commissioner of Uganda and suggest- ing an early meeting to discuss and report on the scheme proposed for dealing with sleeping sickness and the steps to be taken for advising the Secretary of State as to the necessary administrative measures.

Expresses opinion that the question raised in No. 3 should be discussed at the meeting of the Advisory Board of the Tropical Diseases Research Fund in May next, and states that a further communication will be made.
