The grant of Governors' Pensions is governed by the Colonial Governors (Pensions) Acts, 1865 (28 & 29 Vict. c. 113) and 1872 (35 & 36 Vict. c. 29), and the Pensions (Colonial Service) Act, 1887 (50 & 51 Vict. c. 13), and also in some cases by Section 12 of the Superannuation Act, 1859 (22 Vict. c. 26), and by the Superannuation (Unhealthy Climates) Act, 1876 (39 & 40 Vict. c. 53).
In order to be qualified for a particular class of pension there must be at least four years of pensionable adminis- tration of a Government or Governments of the corre- sponding class.

In order to be qualified for the full rate there must be Act 28 & 29 either-
of age
and 18 years of pensionable
(1) 60 years administration, or
(2) 15 years of pensionable administration with medical certificate, or
(3) 60 years of age,
and at least 10 years of
pensionable administration, with permanent civil Bervice making not less than 25 years altogether.
In order to become qualified for the reduced rate there
must be either-

(4) 60 years of age and pensionable administration of 12 years after attaining 40 years of age, or
