§1. Precedency, Victoria Cross, Foreign Orders, Salutes, and Flags.
155. The precedency of Colonial Officers is in some cases determined by Colonial Enactments,
by Royal Charters, by Instructions communi- cated either under the Royal Signet and Sign Manual through the Secretary of State, or by authoritative usage. In the absence of any such special authority, Governors are to guide them- selves by the subjoined table.

TABLE OF PRECEDENCE WITHIN THE DOMINION
OF CANADA.
By a despatch from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, bearing date 29th December, 1893, certain altera. tions were made in the Table of Precelence, and the following is now the amended-
TABLE OF PRECEDENCE.
1. The Governor-General or Officer Administering the Govern
ment.
2. The Senior Officer commanding His Majesty's Troope within the Dominion, if of the rank of a General, and the Officer commanding His Majesty's Naval Forces on the British North America Station, if of the rank of an Admiral. Their own relative rank to be determined by the King's Regulations on the subject.
3. The Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario,
Quebec.
