Opinion.
In our opinion, the words of the prohibition contained in section 42 of the Customs Consolidation Act, 1876, include a book published simultaneously in the United Kingdom and in the United States.
We think the words "copyright first subsisting,' "first printed" in the United Kingdom are meant to include cases in which there is no earlier copyright or printing in any other country.
