I AM directed by the Secretary of State to transmit to you herewith, with reference to your letter of the 15th July last, with enclosure, a copy of an opinion
Whitehall, 27th September 1884. which has been received from the Attorney and Solicitor General relative to the ques- tion of the insertion in the Colonial Courts of Admiralty Bill of a provision for vesting in the Colonial Courts of Admiralty jurisdiction under the Foreign Enlistment Act, and I am to request that you will lay the same before the Earl of Derby for his Lordship's information, with an intimation that the Secretary of State concurs therein.
