LAW OFFICERS to COLONIAL OFFICE.

We were honoured with Mr. Bramston's letter of the 26th April last respecting

Temple, 31st May 1879. the proposed Fugitive Offenders Bill, and more particularly with reference to our letter of the 30th of January, stating that a consultation had been appointed with Mr. Jenkyns on the subject of the Bill. You directed Mr. Bramston to state that you would be glad to be favoured with our Report on the amended Bill at as early a day as might be convenient.

In compliance with the request contained in Mr. Bramston's letter we have the honour to

That in accordance with the request made by the Colonial Office the Bill has been carefully considered by us in consultation with Mr. Jenkyns, and we are of opinion that the Bill, as revised by us, may properly be submitted to the consideration of Par- liament.
