It is true that the vessel was in the end released, but the true question in considering the claim for compensation is, whether there were reasonable grounds for seizing her, and that there were such reasonable grounds has been held by the judges who the defendant no costs.

Assuming that we are right in our opinion on the first point, no amount for compensation should be paid to Mr. Quin; but if we are wrong in this opinion we connder that Mr. Quin would be well compensated by a payment of his taxed costs and a reasonable sum for demurrage, during the time the ship was, in fact, under arrest, and prevented from working a cargo or sailing.
We take the liberty of suggesting to your Lordship that Mr. Quin's remedy, if he has been wronged, is by action against Mr. Fowler, and not by an appeal to your Lordship's consideration.
