Lincoln's Inn, November 2, 1866. We are honoured with your Lordship's commands signified in Sir Frederic Rogers' letter of the 30th October last, in which he stated that he was directed by your Lordship to enclose a copy of a letter from the Bishop of Montreal relating to the proposed appointment of the Archdeacon of Toronto to be coadjutor bishop of that diocese under the title of "the Bishop of Niagara," and his consecration in Canada.

Sir Frederic Rogers further stated that he was also to enclose a copy of the answer your Lordship proposes to return to the Bishop of Montreal, and to request that we would favour your Lordship with our opinion whether the proposed answer is proper to be sent.
