I AM honoured with your commanda, signified in Mr. Elliot's letter of the 9th instant, stating that he was directed to transmit to me the enclosed copy of an Act of the Legislature of the Bahamas in the month of March 1864, No. 1579, " to amend "the Act for establishing a court for hearing and deciding cases of divorce and other "matrimonial causes in the Bahama Islands, and for other purposes;" and to request that I would furnish you with my opinion whether this Act may be left to its operation.

In obedience to your commands, I have the honour to

That I am of opinion that Her Majesty may properly be advised to leave to its operation the above-mentioned Act of the Legislature of the Bahamas, entitled " an "Act to amend the Act for establishing a court for hearing and deciding cases of

divorce and matrimonial causes in the Bahama Islands, and for other purposes."
