MY LORD,

Doctors' Commons, July 31, 1881. We were honoured with your Lordship's commands signified in Lord Wodehouse's letter of the 21st June last, stating that he was directed by your Lordship to transmit to us a letter from the Colonial Office, enclosing the copy of a Despatch from the Governor of Canada, together with an Act amending the Pro- visional Statute enacted for carrying out the Treaty with the United States for the extradition of criminals, and requesting that we would take this Act into our con- sideration and report to your Lordship whether we saw any objection to its confir-

mation.

In obedience to your Lordship's commands we have considered the accompanying papers, and have the honour to
