Government House, Singapore, 6th April, 1905. WITH reference to your despatch, No. 12, of the 14th January, 1904, I have the honour to transmit a copy of the annual audited account of the Commissioners of Currency in respect of the year ending February 28th, 1905.
2. It will be seen that the gross depreciation in the value of the investments amounts to $909,859.82, and that after deducting the $400,000 already paid into the Note Reserve Fund from the general revenue of the Colony and the present value of the Depreciation Fund Investments, $162,278.99, there remains due to the Com- missioners the sum of $347,580.83.

I have already addressed you on this matter in my despatch, No. 27, of the 19th January last,t and shall take no further action till I have received your instructions.
