Her Majesty's Government have been unable to advise Her Majesty to comply with the prayer of the petition for a change in the constitution of the Council of Government, but that they are willing to make certain specified alters- tions.

Informing him that Mr. G. Guibert presented himself at the Colonial Office and expressed his viewI to Secretary of State on the subject of the Reform Com- mitten in Mauritius,
