Dear Logan,

1. With reference to Gibson's letter of 3rd February, in reply to your letter of the 11th January No.54145/13 about the entry of Indians and Pakistanis into Hong Kong, I enclose a copy of a letter from Hunt of our Office in Karachi dated 30th May together with a copy of my reply.

2. We are wondering whether in view of recent developments in China the Government of Hong Kong will still wish to pursue the intention stated in their telegram No.113 of the 20th December 1948, to open the doors wider for the entry of Indians.

Sir Marston Logan, K.B.E., C.M.G.,

Colonial Office,

S. W. 1.

Yours sincerely,
