Dear Barton,
Please refer to Logan's letter 54145/13 of the 18th October about the entry of Indians and Pakistanis into Hong Kong. We note that you agree that arrangements for screening ought to be put on a formal basis. We think that the agree- ments should be made by the High Commissioners at Karachi and New Delhi on behalf of the Governor. We should be grateful, therefore, if you would ask the Governor whether we are to ask the High Commissioners to enter into a formal agreement with the Goverments of Pakistan and India on the lines indicated in my letter of 10th. September.
We suggest one or two small amendments to the draft reply to the High Commissioner for India in London enclosed in your letter of 24th August. I enclose a draft showing these. →
Yours sincerely,
See
