23 February, 1950.
EXT. 40.5.2.
علما احلى
Sir,
I am directed by Mr. Secretary Creech Jones to refer to your letter of the 9th February, 1950, about the entry of Indians into Hong Kong.
It is regretted that the reference in my letter of the 24th November, 1949, to discussions with the Government of India was premature. Since that date, however, the United Kingdom High Commissioner in New Delhi has been asked to take up with the Government of India the question of arrangements for security screening of Indians who wish to go to Hong Kong. It appears from the information contained in your letter that no difficulty should be found in this respect.
I am,
Sir,
Your obedient servant,
(ix) RE. Radford
THE SECRETARY,
EXTERNAL DEPARTMENT,
OFFICE OF THE HIGH COMMISSIONER FOR INDIA.
