to speak at the next meeting about the significance of the
new constitutional proposals for the Gold Coast.
20.
Sir Charles Jeffries said that it was assumed that,
in due course, the Committee would wish to hear all the
Under-Secretaries or Heads of Departments in the Colonial
Office who were concerned with the particular territories
under enquiry.
21. It was suggested that, at some time, the Committee
would also wish to hear Lord Milverton G.C.M.G., and
Sir Alan Burns, G. C. M.G., because of the range and diversity
of their experience.
22.
It was agreed that a questionnaire might be drawn up
and given to witnesses in order to focus discussion.
23.
Colonel Dodds-Parker proposed and it was agreed that

a report dated April, 1949 by Dr. A.H. Marshall on "Local
Government in the Sudan" should be circulated to members,
24. It was confirmed that the next meeting of the Committee
would take place on Tuesday, the 17th January and Wednesday
the 18th January and it was agreed that the dates for the
February meeting should be advanced to Monday 27th February
and Tuesday the 28th February.
