adverse if the words "e.g. Indian" were deleted from the last sentence of this paragraph when it is published. The deletion of these words would not affect the general sense, but would remove what appears to be an unnecessarily pointed rejection of the Government of India's request for separate represen- tation of the local Indian community. We should therefore be grateful if you would obtain the Governor of Hong Kong's agreement to this proposed deletion.
