PRISONAL AND CONFIDENGI L

Dear Hardy,

On my return from leave I have read with much interest the reply sent to you by Whitley on the 15th August to your person and confidential letter of the 23rd July about an exchange of staf with the B. B. C. I have also had an opportunity af seeing the letter written to you on the 15th August by the Overseas Services of the B.B.C. I am afraid that I can mly agree with the views set out in these letters, and I do not think that I can usefully add anything to them.

I'did in fact take this matter up after my return from Hong Kong last year in the light of my talk with you. The outco at that time was that nothing could usefully be done about it for the reasons given in Whitley's letter.

I very much enjoyed Hong Kong's contribution to

"Colonial Journey".

With kind regards.

D. Keith Hardy Esq.

Yours sincerely,

(K. W. Blackburne)
