Minutes

The minutes of the last meeting, having been circulated, were approved.

The Chairman told the Committee that Rov. Father Ryan had sent in his resignation, having served for three years on the Committ

He had much pleasure in proposing that Father Ryan be re- elected, provided that he was willing to serve, for another three years. Father Ryan replied that ho was willing, and the Commit- toe gave their unanimous approval.

Also arising from the minutes the Chairman mentioned that a lone was being installed to Sincere's teahouse, on the recommendation of mombers of the Chinese Committee, who had visited a perform- anco which they considered quite suitable for broadcasting.

Contributor's Fees

.The Chairman told the Committee that recommendations had been received from the Chinese Committee for increased contributor's fees. Together with the suggestions already put forward from the English section, a sum of $26,000 over and above the 1949/50 Artists' and Announces Vote would be required. As he did not see any possibility of getting this sum bofore next year's Estimates, he proposed that a sub-committee be set up to inves- tigate the best way of using funds already available. finally agreed that the sub-committee should consist of the

Programme Review

Father Ryan said that he considered Hong Kong had got very good coverage on"Radio Nowsreel" at the time of the arrival of H.M.S. "Amethyst".

Mr. Stericker, who had not expected to be present all the time at the meeting, then referred to a letter which he had sent to the Secretary. This raised five points, which were dealt with one by one:

He proposed that an o.b. van and mobile recording equipment be obtained as soon as possible. The Chairman said that an estimate was at present being obtained from Rootes and the B.B.C., working in collaboration. This van would be asked for in next year's Estimates.
