Dear Blackburne,
September 5th, 1949.
Thank you so much for your letter of Unfortunately I've not yet received Whitley's letter of August 15th. I wonder if you know what could have happened to it?
Not having received this letter I cannot of course comment on your remarks. I imagine how- ever, that we will probably be seconding two Chinese Pro- gramme Assistants to the B.B.C shortly, and you will be hearing about this officially during the next few days.
Having learnt the B.B.C's attitude to the question of secondment of English staff in their letter of the 15th, August, we now only await Whitley's letter to learn your views.

With many thanks for your kind re- marks about "Colonial Journey" Hong Kong seems to be very much in the news these days, and I am kept extremely busy satisfying "Radio Newsreel's" voracious tastes!
