Minute 1

SIR JOHN EDELSTEN reminded the Committee that at their last meeting the Admiralty had been invited to investigate whether 4 L. C. M. (7) and 4 L. C. A. could be made available for shipment to Hong Kong. He now confirmed that these could be ready for shipment in 14 days' time and that he did not anticipate any diffi- culties in shipping them out. They should arrive in Hong Kong during the latter half of October.

THE COMMITTEE agreed that the Commanders-in-Chief, Far East should be informed accordingly and that crews could not be provided from the United Kingdom.

Took note that L. C. M. (7) and 4 L. C.A. were available and could be shipped. to Hong Kong.

Instructed the Secretary to draft a

telegram to the Commanders-in-Chief, Far East and circulate it for their approval.
