THE SECRETARY GENERAL
IS HALF MOON STREET
LONDON, W. I
Workers of India (President: Pandit Nehru); the American Association of Scientific Workers, (President: Dr. Theodore Rosebury), and fifteen other affiliated bodies in Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, Denmark, France, Holland, Czechoslovakia, etc.
We have the honour to ask you to receive a deputation from the World Federation of Scientific Workers and the Association of Scientific Workers of Great Britain, in order that our representatives may express directly to you our Federation's very grave concern at the suppression of the Hongkong Branch of the Chinese Association of Scientific Workers.
No thing of the kind has ever happened before to any of our affiliated bodies and we are sure that you must be particularly concerned, not merely with the blow to science and scientists in general, but with the deplorable fact that our first experience of this kind should have occurred within the British Realm.
We enclose a copy of the letter from the Hongkong Branch of the Chinese Association of Scientific Workers together with a statement issued by them, which has been sent to the World Federation of Scientific Workers.
Yours very respectfully,
Curre
