Photographic supplies for registration scheme.

Ilford offer 35m.m. film on B.7.M.0. spoole but looal Kodak agents recommend 35 m.m. film of 100 feet on daylight loading spools from New York, for Vas. $12,000. Grateful if you would ascertain whether latter can be provided from Kodak (corrupt group - 7 factory) London, and if not whether it is considered that Kodak product is so superior as to warrant dollar expenditure at this critical time. It appears from information available here on the Gibraltar civilian registration scheme that ordinary 35 m.m. amper X film in either 100 ft. or 36 exposure lengths was used. It is possible that sufficient quantity of this is available in London.

Similarly, while double porforated single weight Kodak bromide white velvet lustre paper can be obtained from London, local agente recommend double perforated Kodabromide S.A. super ledger white lustre amooth paper from New York, because it is stronger and more suitable for development in long coils.

Chemicals for development of Ilford film can be obtained from that fira, but there is some suggestion that they might not be suitable for Kodak film. Kodak could supply D.76 developer from London at li.k. #4.410 for 2,100 gallona, but quote considerably lower price from Now York, They also state Dektol developer and photo fix is only obtainable from Amario8. Grateful 12 you would verify this and also London prices for D.76 developer.

4.

Kodak Graflex cameras already ordered from America, as Crown Agents advise that nothing similar could be obtained from sterling sources, but I an anxious to avoid further dollar expenditure of U.S. $23,000 and would be grateful for your advice generally on sourcos from which these supplies should be obtained. Grateful for very early reply so that scheme will not be held up.
