The Government of the republic of China and Mia bajanty's
overnment in the nited Kingdom have been considering an
axicable and reasonable settle ent of the controversy which has
recently arisen in connection with the city of sovLoon. oth
Govern ents, having thru bout maintained their clains in good
faith, consider that the áscue daca not warrant a dispute between
two pence-ioving peoples with a long standing tradition of
friendshin.
ith this in view the two overmenta havo mutually agreed
that the area in which the vity of Lowloon is situated should be
c-nverted into a garden of reme brance, to be called the hung
shan Fark and to be Jedicated to the sacred neory of the Chinese
and british nationals who lost their lives in the common eʼtube
against the Japanese aggression. It has now also been grosd
that the sale-keup ng ani ad inistration of this parcen of
re...e:òrance should be entrusted, under rules to be .utuall
agreed, to two trustees to be appointed respectively by the
· rovincial "overnment of Kwangtung and the ritish authorities
in the leaseu territory of cowloon, and that the hinuse trusteg
should have an office in the garden,
It is hoped that the inspiration of this sacred trust will
ensure ita undistu:bed peace and tranquillity and that the
spirit of rele. brance to which the gas on is dʊdidated will be
perpetuated.
