I am directed by Er. Secretary Creech Jones to acknowledge the receipt of your letter POL/8460/48 of the 31st May, transmitting a copy of a letter from the Government of India in relation to the proposed constitutional changes in Hong Kong.

Hr. Creech Jones would be grateful if, provided you see no objection, the government of India may be informed that the views expressed by them in regard to the nomination of an Indian Member to the Legis- lative Council of Hong Kong have been noted and will be borne in wind.
