By that time, Mrs Brett's Savings Bank account had 44 26 2

amounted to somewhere about $2600, considerably more

than double the amount of the Perkins' Fund, and there

is nothing draw out from Xra Bratt's Savings Bank

scoount until $1400 was transferred on the 4th January

1904 to your personal hanking account, and when you

made that remittance on behalf of Mrs Perkins, that was

debited to your own banking account four months

earlier. I think I cannot accept that explanation on

the face of it. I dont accept your explanation that

the money pais in during so many months, practically

beginning from the beginning of 1904, and right through

up to the beginning of the next year, we largely

accounted for by the fact that you were making use of

Mrs Brett's name as a security for the Trust Fund you

were collecting, and I must say that I dont believe

your statement. On the face of it, you stand condemned.

I am only taking the dates before me. If you have any

other explanation to give, we shall be glad to hear it.

Even supposing your statement is correct, that out of

that $2000 odd paid into Mrs Brett's kooount, $1000

was on account of the Perkins' Fund, how do you account

for the balance ?

The money was sent home to London - a draft on London,

and I got it back again.

When were you transferred to the market?
