Are there any written instructions given to the Plague

Inspector, or the foreman, as to the duties of the

ratcatchers ?

Yes, I have myself given instructions, not so long ago.

In writing?

You.

I should like to have a copy put in, the next time you

come here.

Do you know if these instructions have been conveyed verbally to the ratcatchers by the Inspectors ?

I have no question the Inspectors did not explain the instructions I gave, but I wrote to the Plague Inspacios saying they must note that the ratcatchers had no legal right of entry, and that they could only go into

a house by courtesy of the tenant.

13.30

Was it not sometime ago that a complaint was made to

you that a ratastcher went into a manta house, without asking, and put a rat trap down in the middle of his

shop
