(Page 148,"queation 961) The question I wanted to ask 13057
you is: Can you tell me how you shook the bills for the
stores supplied. Stores are ordered, and a receipt is
signed, I understand, as a rule by the Inspector who
receives the stores. So far as you know, about the bills
that come to you, do you accept the Inspector's receipt
as being correct, and on strength of that, you sign the
bill for payment ?
I dont sign bills as a rule.
But some bills you do, dont you ?
1
If I had specially ordered something myself, and
instructed an Inspector to get it.

You might order disinfectants ?
A.
b. q.
I would indeņt on the Secretary for them. Sometimes, I
sign a bill, because sometimes I might want materials
supplied from outside stores. I would order it, and
then the bill would come to me, and I sign it.
The georetary said that if an Inspector wanted some-
thing, he sent a requisition to the M. 0. K. and the
M. 0. H. passes it, if he thinks it is reasonable.
Yes.

And then the georstary went on to my that he signed reli
the bill on the strength of the Inspectorta receipt,
and the question was put to him • It sqms to me a
good deal of responsibility rests with the Inapaqbers",
