01- Now, Mr Woodcock, before I go on to some questions I am to 1532

put to you, there are one or two small points in connection

with your evidence at last meeting which I would like to

clear up. Do you think from your experience as Secretary of

the Board that there have been any considerable number of

appeals to the Board on account of harsh treatment -

enforcement of various provisions of the Act ?

A:-

harsh

with harsh treatment but as to how many I really could not

-ence of these complaints with regard to harsh treatment

that the Government was actuated in appointing this Commis-

-8ion ?

A: Yes, I think that is so.

A:-

And you think there have been a number of complaints ?

I should not like to say how mary. I have recollection of

some coming in but how many I carnot say.

Kikai- Are these invariably referred to the Sanitary Board ?

A:-

1536′′

not referred to the Banitary Board.

So far as you know avery complaint - 1
