My husband may be able to smooth things over, when he arrives, but I know how unwilling he is to be invoed in politics, particularly when there is so much work awaiting him in his own Department.
I think it is only fair' of me to tell you, confidentially, that Michael Lindsay has this material (he is the Chairman now of this organisation and I am Joint Secretary) his father is in the House of Lords and he may show this sheet to him.
I do not believe that I thanked you for sending me the Canadian appreciation of my husband, which in some extraordinary way, went astray. It was very kind of you.
I wish it were possible to interest more people in Chinese affairs and the problem of Hong Kong in relation to China, but I find it very uphill work.

Yours sincerely,
Hilda Selwyn-Clarke
