China intends to establish a Chinese civil administration over the hitherto British-administered area of Kowloon city, within the Hong Kong colonial boundary.
A Chinese Foreign Office statement, reports BUP from Shanghai today, were being said that arrangements made to restore Chinese civil juris- diction at an early date.
A Chinese spokesman
said that
China never agreed with the ousting of the Chinese administration (under a clause of the Peking Convention of 1898), and now intends to re-establish it there.
