he thinks fit without such request, on the consideration of any claim or objection or other matter require that the evidence tendered by any person be given on cath and may administer on cath for the purpose.

44.

No misnomer or inaccurate description of any person or place on any list or on the register or in any notice shall prejudice the operation of this Ordinance as respects that person or place, provided that the person cr place is so designated as to be commonly understood.

45.

In reckoning time for the purpose of this Ordinance, Sunday, Christmas Day, Good Friday, and any bank holiday or day set apart as a public holiday, or day of public fast, or public thanksgiving shall be excluded; and where anything required by this Ordinance to be done on any day falls to be done such day, that thing may be done on the next day not being one of any such days.

4.6.

The Governor in Council may make rules for carrying out the objects of this Ordinance and may prescribe fees payable in respect of any matter or thing arising thereunder.

(Note: These provisions have been drafted on the basis that they will form part of on Ordinance dealing with elections of Municipal Commissioners; possibly an amendment of the Municipal Ordinance. Further provisions will of course be required for the conduct of elections etc. These provisions are largely based upon the Registration Rules contained in the First Schedule of the Representation of the People Act, 1918, with certain modifications suggested by the laws of Ceylon).
