I would like to supplement that evidence by saying that Sam

Loi was not actually taking notes down. He bad another man

itting besides him.

As they were taking the notes, did it appear to you that thự 4218

tere really working bona fide with the books or did you

think that they were playing a trick ?

I think they were playing a trick. They requested to be

allowed to take certain items from the books. I think it was

merely bluff from their appearanön. What they really wanted

was to go over the items in the books from beginning to end

to see whether there was anything against the Inspectors or

Interpreters. I think that is what they really wanted.
