LORD CUNNINGHAM said that he still considered that it would bo premature to resumo civil government in Hong Kong on 1st April 1946. In view of the prosent conditions in Hong Kong as reported by the C.-in-C. Hong Kong,

he suggested it would be most desirable to continue military' government of the Colony for further uricas

LORD ALANBROOKE agree with the views of the First Soa Lord, and suggested that before recommending the adoption of this policy it would be necessary to have the military implications of the continuance of military government examined.

THE COMMITTEE:-

Invited the War Office to examine and report

upon the military implications of the continuance of military government in Hong Kong after 1st April 1946 for a further period.
