OF CIVIL GOVERNMENT
Note by the Secretary
At their Meeting on the 17th May, the Chiefs of Staff had before them e Minute by the Secretary covering a draft telegram prepared by the Colonial Office to the Governor of Hong Kong regarding the military arrangemente which were being put into erect on the turnover of the islend tɔ Civil Administration.

The discussion is recorded in the Minutes of the Meeting.

The Committee instructed the Joint Planning Staff ;-
(a) to revise their report on the
Cand of Lervices in aong Kong : fter resumption of Civil Government in the light of the decisions reached in discussion ;
(b) to revize the draft telegram prepared by the Colonil Office to the Governor of long kong, in the light of the abuve discussion.
The "O" Section is invited to revise their report*,
and the draft telogram for further consideration by the Chiefs or tarr.
