THE COMMITTEE considered a report by the Joint Planning Stuff ro-examining the arrangements to bo mado for the command of the three Services in Hongkong after the resumption of civil government in the colony.

THE COMMITTEE:-

Approved the report by the Joint Planning

Staff and the text of the draft lettor at annox to the report, and instructed the Secretary to dospatch the lottur to the Colonial Office.

(b) Invited Service Ministries to issuu

revised directives to their Service representatives in Hongkong when tho concurrence of the Colonial Office to the terms of the draft telogram to the Govornor of Hongkong, attached as an appendix to the draft letter to tho Colonial office, had boon received.
