Air Supply. We do not consider that the probable scale of attack will prevent normal supply and reinforce. ont by sen. We do not, therefore, consider any special arrangements for air supply over and above normal air transport services are required,

Intelligence cranisation. We agree with the nocessity for a Joint Intelligence Organisation including civil reprosentation and for reliable agents reporting from tho mainland, Further, we recommend that close liaison should be maintained with H.M. Embassy in China nnd H.M. Consul General in Crnton.

Volunteer Forces, We re in favour of the formation of volunteer Torces including an auxiliary air force. This matter will be donlt with by the Colonial Office and Service Ministries.

11. Provision of Air and local defences. Detailed recommendations regarding the scale of the above defences to be provided at Hong Kong will follow when the utter has been reviewed by the Defence of Bases Committee.

12. Copy of J.P. (46) 10 on which the above comments are brsed follows by f::st air.
