The fact that Dr. Wellington Koo mentioned to Mr. Noel Baker the conversation that General Chian Kai-shek had had with Sir H. Seymour, thus ensuring trim an approach at both ends, at it were, does suggest that the Chinese are expecting the issue of the future of Hong Kong to be pursued.
